Spring & Summer Updates

It’s July! While I haven’t written any posts lately, there have been things going behind the scenes.

Recently, I was experimenting with different webshop platforms for my art. I’ve tried several of them, including one of the most popular options, but the search is still ongoing, as I have yet to find the one that works best for my needs. The whole process is time-consuming, but there’s no other way to know than actually taking the plunge to try each platform.

Back in spring, when days started to feel much longer, I got that urge to create flower-themed art. Inspired by all kinds of blossoms, I created many flower watercolor paintings. As it happened this time I painted all my flowers intuitively, so the end results were pretty much a surprise each time.

Another newest creations from my studio are my ‘Poppies’ earrings! The main material is made out of recycled wood, a new one for me to use in jewelry. For a project of its size, the whole creating process took so long it was like a long trip with lots of twists and turns, I’m glad the trip is now completed.

The long process is totally worth it, as the earrings have so much character and really bring me smiles, true little delights! I’ve completed them for now and if you’re interested, each is a unique piece of art, therefore it’s only available at my studio where you can view the pieces yourself, feel free to contact me to make an appointment.

Wearable art, each is one-of-a-kind

Here, summer has been having many rainy and windy days, but just to let you know I’ve started painting plein air! More to come as I’m planning to share also some of my plein air paintings from my favorite spots in Helsinki.

Another activity I enjoy during summer is visiting exhibitions. Recently I explored a few, and one I enjoyed was Antiikin sankarit or Classical Heroes exhibition at Sinebrychoff Museum in Helsinki. I’m intrigued by stories and human psychology, so I find the theme interesting. My jewelry ‘The Quest’, which received an Award from Japan Jewellery Association in 2023, was about the story of the hero in each of us.

I found the exhibition to be fascinating as it offers unexpected perspectives around the theme. I found things to learn there, and certainly recommend it to fellow art lovers! There’s still time, the exhibition is open until August 10th 2025.

Stay tuned for more updates from my studio! I’m also soon getting ready with Leaves&Love Jewelry Exhibition at Helsinki Winter Garden in autumn. If you’re interested to receive updates from me, please sign up to my newsletter. Till next time!
