Hello! I’m Astari G Swatantri, an International Award-Winning Jewelry Artist & Designer, welcome to my online portfolio! I’m excited to share you enchanting stories through my jewelry. SVVA came from ‘Swa’, a Sanskrit word means ‘(your own) self’. In Finnish, the letter ‘w’ is called the ‘double v’ and I like the sound of ’SVVA’. I started to create silver jewelry in 2006 and have been mostly concentrating on pieces for exhibitions or contests, though I also enjoy making everyday wear jewelry.
For each piece, I try to use locally sourced materials as much as possible. Since little I have always been being intrigued, inspired, and picky when it came to shapes, patterns, colors, materials, and any combinations of these. I studied architecture and it perhaps is the reason I intuitively design a piece to be versatile whenever possible.
Currently I live in Helsinki, Finland. Astari is a dear name that I use as an artist name. Beside the jewelry world, I’m passionate about watercolor painting, songwriting and I love visiting botanical gardens whenever I travel. As an artist, I continuously creating new jewelry pieces including for international contests and exhibitions. Feel free to contact me for more information.
