Hello! I’m Astari G. Swatantri, an artist and designer. The many facets of our changing world inspire my creative process, reflected in the themes I explore and the materials I use. I primarily work with 100% recycled silver, and my latest pieces incorporate other reclaimed materials like paper, underscoring sustainability as a key aspect of my artistic vision. Influenced by my background in architecture and my passion for painting, I create vibrant and whimsical jewelry that invites curiosity and discovery. My jewelry creations incorporate stories, moving elements, hidden surprises, and transformations into new forms or objects, encouraging viewers to explore multiple layers.

At the core of my inspiration lies the beauty, power, and fragility of nature, alongside elements of our fast-paced modern life. Observing bees among flowers, learning about corals, and embracing small joys that often go unnoticed fill me with a sense of magic. Through my work, I strive to amplify nature’s voice, reflecting its allure and challenges, while engaging with the wonders and nuances of everyday life. Using handcrafted shapes, textures, and colors in recycled silver and other materials, I aspire to create lively, playful pieces that spark moments of magic in an unpredictable world.

The name SVVA is my one-woman company’s name, originally from ‘Swa’. It’s a Sanskrit word which means ‘(your own) self’, and in Finnish, the letter ‘w’ is called the ‘double v’. Thank you for visiting my website, I’m glad you’re here! If you’re interested in learning more about my work, collaborating, scheduling a studio visit, or inquiring about my artworks, please feel free to reach out via the contact form or email.
