My Creative Wishes in 2025: More of Art, Recycling, and Community

Hi there! Hope the new year has been starting wonderfully for you. The year starts excitingly for me with the opening of Aqua Ambra Aquila second exhibition in the end of this month, I will write about this in another post! I’ve also been working on a couple of projects while at the same time delving into things I’d like to focus on this year.

When it comes to planning, I’m more of a general than a detailed planner (let it flow!), and here are several things I wish to embrace this year.

Continue with reuse, reduce, recycle
I look forward to working even more with recycled materials. My main material in creating jewelry is recycled silver in the form of Art Clay silver clay, and last year I started to incorporate recycled paper as a significant part of my jewelry. I also shared on my YouTube channel during the holiday season several crafting videos using waste materials. It feels so good to work with recycled materials, and at the same time it always succeeds to offer me fresh point of views and possibilities.

I.Sea.You ring series portrays coral bleaching phenomenon. It’s made from recycled silver and recycled paper.

Working with recycled materials that I’ve never used before is like entering an unknown territory. They don’t come with a how-to instruction – obviously – so it requires a lot of tryouts (often with errors), but honestly, I’m excited to experiment along the way!

Integrating my art activities into one place
Currently, I have different outlets for different art activities. I hope to bring all of these together, though I’m fully aware this would be a big job. It translates perhaps to: a renewed website, and maybe a social media page to interact with the community in a lively and lovely space, but the question is, which platform? I had an Instagram account a few years ago that went mistakenly disabled. With the social media scenery changing constantly, it raises the question of whether it makes sense to invest time in one platform.

Getting (some kind of) a shop
As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I’ve been receiving requests about my artwork. I’m exploring getting an online shop for example for my artwork prints, either independently, or by joining marketplace platforms. So many options to explore. Stay tuned!

Painting in different formats
One thing I’ve been thinking lately is to paint watercolor in different formats than I’m used to. If you know me, I paint tiny paintings, an inch by an inch or even smaller, as well as larger paintings. By painting in different formats, I can express ideas that would work better in those formats.

Organizing the studio
So after everything… it boils down to this! Life can get busy, and I keep piling things on top of each other (maybe you’re familiar with this too!). I want to make time for organizing at least a few times a week, even if it’s just for half an hour each time. I’ve started by sorting out some of my art supplies and getting a shelf in December, but a lot still has to be done!

These are among my creative wishes for 2025. I’d love to know what you’re working towards too! Are you tackling certain creative projects, or do you have other goals for the year? Drop me a comment if you have any thoughts or feedback. Let’s make 2025 an inspiring and productive year!
