The new year 2024 has started, I wish you a healthy year full of lovely, inspiring, and blossoming moments!
The end of the year was quite a busy and intense time as I was preparing and went through a planned medical procedure, so not much time for any other things really. During this time, I also received back ‘The Quest’, my winning piece from the Silver Accessories Contest, after the exhibition in Tokyo Metropolitan Theater gallery in September to October. The piece received the Award from Japan Jewellery Designers, and I’ve written about it in my previous post.

I had been wanting to take pictures of The Quest jewelry to show a different way of wearing it, and finally I got some time, and some decent photography light too! After quite a long period of cloudy days, we now have occasional bright sunny days. Overall, though, it’s still winter, it’s still -15°C from time to time, so, yes, any sunshine is warmly welcomed, no pun intended.
As I mentioned in my previous post, creating ‘The Quest’ was a quest on its own. I was so glad to get it completed. On of the most challenging parts was the mechanic of the piece. I tend to create versatile jewelry that can be worn differently on different occasions, and so was for ‘The Quest’. This time, the front part of the focal point could be worn separately as a pendant.
So here is the picture of the pendant, without other parts. I really love this pendant and wearing it does feel special. Perhaps the feelings of strength and light are how I would describe it.

In September 2023 I also showcased my work at Leaves & Love Jewelry Exhibition, a duo exhibition at Helsinki Winter Garden. My theme was ‘The Quest’, obviously referring to the piece. The jewelry I made for the exhibition are geared more towards daily wear pieces. One of the biggest jewelry is a pendant that also could be worn as a double or single layer, the same concept as the one made for the contest.
Here are a few pictures of the pieces I made for the Leaves & Love exhibition. All pieces, just like the main piece ‘The Quest’ was handmade from scratch, using Art Clay Silver silver clay which is 100% recycled silver. You can read more about Art Clay Silver in one of my posts here.

This year, there are plans for my jewelry as well as paintings. Details to come, and I will post interesting updates here.
Wishing you health, love, and light in this new year!
